A first quick look at how the second iteration of the open-source EyeSkills prototype works. This prototype is designed to test the visual abilities of a person with Lazy Eye, and evaluate the effectiveness of a few techniques which may be useful in allowing a participant to re-establish binocular vision.

What this project is reminding me of, is that simplicity and effectiveness are more illusive and difficult to reach than seemingly complex flashy results. These scenes are the tip of an iceberg – with many thousands of lines of enabling code under the hood which will easy the path for others to create relevant environments and training scenes for people with strabismus and amblyopia.

We hope you will support us in our collective endeavours!
